UC hospitals among best in America – July 11, 2008, News Release

The University of California's five medical centers have been named among the best hospitals in America in the U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings, which honored UCLA and UCSF medical centers as the best in the Western United States. UCLA and UCSF ranked third and seventh respectively within the report's 2008 Honor Roll, with high scores in six out of sixteen specialty areas, while UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and UC Davis also ranked among the top 50 in a variety of specialty areas.

U.S. News and World Report has ranked the University of California Medical Centers among the best hospitals in the country. UCLA and UCSF ranked third and seventh respectively in the report's 2007 Honor Roll, with high scores in six out of sixteen specialty areas. UCSD, UC Davis, and UC Irvine also ranked among the top 50 in a variety of specialty areas. This report reaffirms that UC Medical Centers are among the best in the country, and much credit goes to the outstanding nurses at each of our UC medical centers and student health facilities.
