 AFSCME REJECTS UC’S SECOND PACKAGE PROPOSAL
At bargaining this week, UC and AFSCME spent the majority of the session reviewing outstanding administrative items, including the status of the parties’ respective Requests for Information, future bargaining locations and the status of proposals. The University also shared with the union planned caps on parking rates for a number of locations.
At this bargaining session, AFSCME rejected UC’s second comprehensive package proposal. UC’s package would have provided the following:
- Retention of the current wage structure for year one with individual increases ranging from approximately 1.5% to 11% depending on title and location;
- Transition to a step structure in year two;
- Movement through the step structure in year three, based on performance;
- Continued health care and retirement benefits at the same costs as provided to other UC employees.
